Titans

We already knew that a large chunk of the upcoming live-action ‘Titans’ series takes place in Gotham City and that, at least to a degree, Bruce Wayne’s penthouse would serve as an impromptu headquarters.  Now a famous piece of Gotham iconography has been confirmed and photographed– the Bat Signal.

It’s unclear if Bruce Wayne will actually show up on ‘Titans’.  With ‘Gotham’ still on the air, it would make sense that he’d be off-limits.  Though the Teen Titans were largely made up of sidekicks to the adult members of the Justice League, only Robin (Brenton Thwaites) is a sidekick on this series, although Jason Todd (Curran Walters) and Donna Troy (Conor Leslie) will also appear.

According to DC Entertainment Community Manager Dani Snow:

“We are about to launch, I think Late August, our DC Digital platform, which will be a hub for all things DC.  There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming. We’re gonna have a lot of comics on there. There’s gonna be a lot of good stuff on there.”

It appears that all of ‘Titans’ Season One series one has filmed with the show now in post-production.  In addition to Thwaites, the regular cast includes Teagan Croft as Raven, Anna Dip as Starfire and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, with Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as recurring heroes Hawk & Dove.  The Doom Patrol will also appear and DC has already ordered a spin-off series based on their roles in ‘Titans’.  The Doom Patrol are Bruno Bichir as The Chief, April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl, James Michaels as Robot Man and Dwain Murphy as Negative Man.  On the actual ‘Doom Patrol’ series, the team will be joined by Cyborg and Crazy Jane.  As for ‘Titans’, the cast also includes Lindsey Gort as police officer Amy Rohrbach.  Seamus Dever has been cast in an undisclosed villain role.  Jarreth J. Merz has been cast as The Acolyte, who seems to be a henchman of the show’s main bad guy.  Among the threats the Titans will face on the show appear to be The Nuclear Family.

Do you hope that Batman and/or Bruce Wayne appears in the flesh on ‘Titans’?  Or should these heroes be able to succeed without the senior heroes?
