Teen Titans GO

The Teen Titans are about to hit the big screen in ‘Teen Titans GO! to the Movies’ their first feature length film.  In it, the young heroes head to Hollywood in order to land their own big budget comic book movie.  The movie features the voice cast of the popular Cartoon Network series; Scott Menville as Robin, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven and Hynden Walch as Starfire.  They will be joined by Kristen Bell as Jade Wilson, a hot shot Hollywood director, while Will Arnett (a.k.a. LEGO Batman) will voice her father Slade Wilson.  Comic fans should know who that really is.

Now we have learned who will be voicing two of the senior superheroes.  Green Lantern (John Stewart version) will be voiced by rapper Lil Yachty and singer/songwriter Halsey will voice Wonder Woman.

Executive producer Sam Register stated:

“Every superhero in the DC Universe has an impact on the fans, so we felt a great responsibility to find a voice for each character that would not only suit the role, but the playful tone of the Titans, and we’re thrilled with our cameo cast.”

Lil Yachty first gained mainstream notice in 2016 when he was featured on Chance the Rapper’s single ‘Mixtape’.  Last year, he scored two more hits as a featured artist, first on DRAM’s single ‘Broccoli’ (which was nominated for a Grammy Award), then Kyle’s ‘iSPY’ (nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award).  His 2017 album ‘Teenage Emotions’ hit #5 on the Billboard charts.  He has been featured in a Sprite commercial with LeBron James, modeled for Nautica and Urban Outfitters and appeared in the ‘It Takes Two’ commercial for Target with Carley Rae Jepson.

Halsey can currently be heard on the radio with the single ‘Him & I’, a duet with her boyfriend G-Eazy.  Her single ‘Bad At Love’ was inescapable in 2017.  She sang the #1 single ‘Closer’ by the Chainsmokers and was featured on Justin Bieber’s single ‘The Feeling’.  Her first album ‘Badlands’ hit #2 on the Billboard charts and her second, ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ hit #1.

‘Teen Titans GO! to the Movies’ hits theaters on July 27, 2018.
