Paul Bettany Avengers: Infinity War

While we’re all sure that upocoming LEGO toys will spoil major revelations from ‘Avengers: Infinity War,‘ we’ve learned that Marvel Studios tried to prevent earlier leaks from happening. To do this, it sounds as if the creative staff inserted fake scenes into the scripts to attempt to prevent actual leaks from occurring. The news came from Paul Bettany during a recent interview in Total Film which showed us that directors Joe and Anthony Russo created this misinformation and real copies only existed in a handful of locations.

Bettany described the process:

“When I read the script there were fake scenes in it. I got the directors on the phone, and they walked me through what were the fake scenes. They’d had three leaks already, so they’d written a script with lots of fake scenes. There were three Hero iPads that had the only real script on them.”

It isn’t too surprising that the studio would want to keep things quiet. Tom Holland at one time stated that “[the filmmakers]don’t let me read anything because I’m so bad at keeping secrets.” Things were shut so tight that Holland was involved in a highly CGI’d fight scene and wasn’t even informed who he was fighting against for fear of his loose lips.

With this in mind, any early slip-ups from any actor could prove to be false depending on how it all plays out on screen.

This revelation of fake scenes being in the script could clarify the director’s recent comments that they were “too tired” to shoot fake scenes for either ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ or ‘Avengers 4’. It could have been something which they’ve wanted to do in order to mess with fans and as extras for the Blu-Ray release and weren’t able to accomplish.

Are you glad that Marvel Studios went this far out of their way to try and keep what will happen in the movie a secret? Do you think that LEGO will end up spoiling it all for us anyway? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
