Jordan PeeleI loved ‘Get Out‘ and when the credits rolled my first thought was to wonder if we’d get a sequel and now we hear that director Jordan Peele is open to it. However, he isn’t going to sell out to make it happen. The requirement on his end is that it would have to have the same impact as the original did. It is clear that I wasn’t the only one wondering about this. When asked if Universal Pictures wanted to do a follow-up he said, “Of course they have. It was the first thing they said, ‘Let’s do a sequel.’”

Peele would be very willing to do a sophomore outing in the world of ‘Get Out,’ but it would have to be done right as he shared at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards:

“Honestly, I am open to it. I love the project, but I won’t do a sequel just for some kind of cash grab. If it’s right, if it feels good and I feel like I can beat the original, I’ll do it.”

That isn’t to say anyone should get their hopes up that it’ll be in development in the next year or so:

“But that will be a hard task. I got a whole lot of thinking to do before I get there. In the meantime, I have a whole lot of other stories to tell, and I want to help other people tell stories.”

By this, I hope he means that he plans to firmly tie it into the world of ‘Being John Malkovich‘!

Peele is attached to help produce a ton of shows and films right now including ‘The Twilight Zone‘ and ‘Lovecraft Country,‘ so horror fans still have a lot to look forward to with Peele’s name on it.

Do you want a sequel to ‘Get Out’ to be made? Are you happy to hear that Jordan Peele will only do it if the right inspiration hits to make it as good as the first film? Share your thoughts below!
