While the dice have yet to be rolled to see if Alden Ehrenreich can pull off Han Solo in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ it looks as if Donald Glover has already channeled Billy Dee Williams. The look, the style, the smile, I’m just feeling Lando Calrissian in each of these shots. Honestly, I was more worried that they’d miss the mark on Lando than Han!

Of course, the recent character poster also helped nail that look.

We didn’t see much in the recent teaser and full trailer for the movie, but there are three moments with Donald Glover as Lando that truly stand out. I have a feeling as more teasers and clips are released that this number is going to skyrocket.

The first is of course that iconic Lando look. A smile with style for possibly the only scoundrel who can outmaneuver Solo! He looks so easygoing here and yet one can’t help but suspect that he has a blaster trained at whoever is sitting across from him under the table.

I mean, how can you not want to like this guy who you know is probably playing you at this very moment? Of course, what we know from Lando is that he doesn’t like to be in style but maybe have a more regal flair to his wardrobe.

I’m sure everyone can appreciate the air of presence that Glover can bring to Lando’s look here. But it isn’t just a look that Lando has down in his clothes but how he interacts with others!

Even the droids! One of the old pieces of “Star Wars Legends” details that some might not know is that Han wasn’t the best of pilots. In a trilogy of novels about Lando which were released after ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,’ we learned in detail that he really was a “great gambler and swindler but a terrible pilot” so this droid is likely taking over the role of Vuffi Raa from the novels who did just that. Highly different stylings but if the name pops up in the movie you shouldn’t be surprised if this is a reimaged take on the droid.

Are you looking forward to seeing Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’? Do you think from the initial images that he’s nailed the part? Share your thoughts below!
