Disney has been busy sharing details on their upcoming slate of films for the upcoming year, and we’ve gained a slew of information from a synopsis of ‘Incredibles 2‘! Pixar was able to show us what a ‘Fantastic Four’ movie could be like without Marvel’s First Family and now the superhero team is back for another outing! Outside of Jack-Jack having powers – which the family is finally starting to learn about – we haven’t gotten much out of the first teaser for the film. All of that is going to change with the new description which has been released.
Here, we learn that not only is there a new supervillain on the loose but we’re getting some mom power in this one with Helen leading the team!
Let’s take a look at what we can expect:
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time
Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson)
at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate
the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life/ It’s a tough transition for everyone made tougher
by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers.
When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone
(voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again – which is easier
said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
It isn’t clear how Helen will be in the spotlight or what kind of trouble the kiddos are going to get into now that they’re using their new powers, but it’s sure to be great – for audiences at least.
With Mr. Incredible getting the spotlight the first time around, I’m glad that it seems Pixar is shifting the focus in this one. I hope that means we’ll be getting a movie for each of the heroes with all of them getting a shot at being front and center.
