scooby doo batman

One of the greatest mystery solving combos ever are reuniting!  In 1972, Batman and Robin teamed up with none other than Scooby-Doo and his pals, Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and Velma to foil their enemies The Joker and The Penguin.  From 2008-2011, Batman went on to join forces with a wild assortment of characters from both the DC Universe and beyond on animated series ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ and in one episode, even re-teamed with Scooby and the gang to rescue parody singer “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Now these super sleuths meet again for a full-length adventure in the straight-to-DVD animated movie ‘Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold’.  And that’s not the only reunion.  The film revives the dearly missed ‘B&B’ continuity, using the same art style and voice actors.  Yes, this Batman will again be voiced by Diedrich Bader, and some of the show’s most popular guest-stars are also returning, including Jeffrey Combs as The Question, John DiMaggio as Aquaman, Grey Griffin as Black Canary (and Daphne), Tom Kenny as Plastic Man and Kevin Michael Richardson as Detective Chimp.  Meanwhile, Frank Welker reprises his roles as both Scooby and Fred, while Matthew Lillard voices Shaggy and Kate Micucci plays Velma.

With such a mighty assortment of crime fighters, expect a bevvy of scary villains, most of whom seem lifted from Scooby’s Rogues Gallery (Ghost Clown, Spooky Space Kook, Gentleman Ghost, Miner 49er), but also include Bat villains as diverse as The Joker and Penguin to Catman and Dr. Double X.

It seems to be a great time to be Scooby-Doo… or at least have the honor of getting his assistance.  In addition to this film, the Mystery Inc. will guest-star on an animated episode of ‘Supernatural’ later this season.

‘Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ hits DVD and digital on January 9, 2018.
