wonder woman gag reel

‘Wonder Woman’ was the highest grossing film of the summer and now that we’re easing into fall, we can relive one of DC’s best movies (if not THE best movie) so far when it soars onto home video in a couple of weeks.  While director Patty Jenkins got things very right, ‘Wonder Woman’ was a lot of things, but a laugh riot wasn’t one of them.  With the exception of some charming interplay between Diana (Gal Gadot) and Steve (Chris Pine) and the comedic nuggets featuring Lucy Davis’ Etta Candy, the majority of the movie stayed focused on the action and dark threat posed by its main villain Ares.

But the DVD/Blu-Ray release includes among many other bonus features, a gag reel which shows that even though the cast and crew were filming a serious movie, there were many laughs to be had on set.

Gal Gadot shared a small sample of bloopers on her Twitter, which you can watch below:

The chuckles don’t stop there.  The DVD/Blu-Ray will feature a longer version of this gag reel plus the epilogue ‘Etta’s Mission’ featuring Etta Candy leading Steve’s pals Charlie (Ewen Bremner), Chief (Eugene Brave Rock) and Sameer (Saïd Taghmaoui) to recover a mystical artifact from behind enemy lines.  In addition, there will be some deleted scenes, although Jenkins has said that she didn’t cut much out of the finished film.  The discs also feature nine behind-the-scenes featurettes, including five that spotlight Jenkins and her approach to bringing the Amazing Amazon to the big screen, which was no small feat, as well as a featurette that examines DC’s Trinity, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman, a match-up that first appeared in live action in ‘Batman V Superman’ and will next play a heavy role in ‘Justice League’.

The movie itself is currently available digitally, but if you want a physical copy, you have plenty of options.  For a more basic option, ‘Wonder Woman’ will be available on single disc DVD or Blu-Ray.  For more deluxe treatments, there are three more choices, a DVD/Blu-Ray/Ultra Violet/Digital HD, 3D Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray/Digital and 4K UHD/Blu-Ray.  Also, as usual with big releases, big retailers like Walmart, Target and Best Buy are offering their own store-exclusives with various premiums.

Every version will be released on September 19th, 2017.
