Jessica Jones

Well, it seems following the events of ‘The Defenders‘ not all will be well for ‘Jessica Jones’ as she heads into her second season in 2018, as new set photos have revealed that her nemesis from Season 1, Kilgrave, is not quite as dead and gone as she would have hoped. The photos were released on Twitter and feature David Tennant dressed in Kilgrave’s typical purple attire, tormenting both Jessica and her friend Malcolm, which almost kills the idea that he is only a figment of her imagination, as Malcolm appears to be reacting to Kilgrave as well, and that would not be possible if only Jessica could see him. Check out the photos for yourself:

However, we did see Jessica kill Kilgrave during the Season 1 finale, so he does have to be dead, right? Could he be some kind of ghost? Or could his power and/or the trauma of what he did to Jessica and her friends allow his memory to live on in a way to where he can continue to torture them beyond death? Or is he actually back and alive? Fans loved ‘Jessica Jones’ season 1, and a big part of that was David Tennant’s villainous portrayal of Kilgrave, and I would not put it past Marvel and the showrunners to bring him back if they saw a plausible way of doing so, although that is not to say he will be the primary villain of Season 2. Rumor has it that Jessica will be squaring off against either Nuke or Typhoid Mary this coming season (or both) and I would much rather see her face new challenges than rehashing the same ideas from the first season. But making a reborn Kilgrave an additional obstacle could be interesting, especially since Jessica can hold her own against Kilgrave now.

What do you think? Is this just a ghost Kilgrave, or could he really be back in Season 2? Share your thoughts and theories on the matter in the comments section below!
