While some might be annoyed that the stand-alone Han Solo Star Wars film will also be a heist like ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘ it almost seems that to not go that route would be a disservice to putting a young rogue on the big screen to begin with. We know that as a smuggler Solo will have a shady past and as we all wanted Nathan Fillion to take over the role before he got old, it would only make sense that a nearly ‘Firefly’ vibe would fit here.
Let’s be honest, that’s why we thought Fillion would make a good Solo to begin with.
So with that, we’ve learned that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy seems to agree and is tells us Chris Miller and Phil Lord’s take on the character:
“This moves closer to a heist or Western type feel. We’ve talked about [Frederic] Remington and those primary colors that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film.”
We’ve seen him as a brook, a gambler, a smuggler, and a man who has principals, even if they are strictly his own. So to see him working on a planet which will likely be in the middle of nowhere much like Tatooine which we can all suspect is where he gets his clients then a western really is a good fit.
Are you happy to hear that we’re almost getting a ‘Firefly’ like description for the standalone Han Solo film? Is another heist okay in your books or do you think that the stand alone movies should have been further differentiated from one another? Share your thoughts below!
The Untitled Han Solo Movie will be released on May 25th, 2018!
