The second season premiere of ‘Supergirl‘ is fast approaching, and that means we’re about due for some teasers!

As ‘Supergirl’ joins producer Greg Berlanti’s other DC TV shows ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ on the CW, the show is set to see some changes, which have been teased through casting announcements. Among those announcements is the fact that one-time Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter has been cast as the President of the United States. And, while no specific casting has yet been announced, we also know the season will feature the likes of Mon-El, Miss Martian, and Metallo.

But of course, the highlight of all the recent ‘Supergirl’ casting news has been that Tyler Hoechlin will be joining the show as Superman. Though the Man of Steel was referenced on numerous occasions throughout the first season, this will mark his first proper appearance on the series. Hoechlin has so far only been confirmed to appear in the first two episodes of the season, but there is every possibility of the character returning in a recurring role.

And now, having been revealed to the world in publicity photos over the summer, Hoechlin’s Superman is featured in the latest ‘Supergirl’ teaser. The teaser (embedded below), sees Supergirl and her famous cousin separately take flight, bound for the scene of an unknown disaster. As the all-too-brief teaser ends, we see the two heroes briefly float side by side before flying off to save the day. Meanwhile, in voice over we hear Supergirl say that she has dreamt of this team up. No doubt fans of the series can say the same, especially given the way that Superman’s presence could be felt throughout the first season, even if he never appeared in the flesh.

‘Supergirl’ returns at 8:00 pm on October 10, 2016, and stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks, and Jeremy Jordan.
