Labor Day is typically seen as the last weekend of summer where everyone can relax before the fall blows in. However, it seems like ‘Daredevil’ star Charlie Cox didn’t get that memo. After appearing at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday and Saturday, he flew up to Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday for Fan Expo Canada. Upon arriving to the Great White North, Cox joined co-star Elden Henson and Marvel COO Joe Quesada for a lively Q&A that touched on a variety of topics, including which Defenders teammate the actor is most excited to see interact with the Man Without Fear.

Before we get new seasons of ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘Daredevil’ on Netflix, we’ll be seeing a number of new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to ‘Luke Cage’ and ‘Iron Fist’. Then, all four come together in ‘The Defenders’ to face a threat that they couldn’t handle alone. But before thwarting evil, they’ll have to get along long enough to get the job done. When asked about the likelihood of Matt Murdock and Krysten Ritter’s Jones getting along, Cox noted that they’re not “particularly friendly”, which should definitely make things interesting. However, the hero that he’s most looking forward to interacting with is the immortal Iron Fist.

“The relationship I’m most interested in seeing fleshed out is the Matt Murdock and Danny Rand stuff. I just met Finn Jones the other day and I just think in the comics, that’s a great relationship so I want to see how that works out on screen.”

In the comics, Murdock and Rand have had a long friendship. The duo have fought side by side and against each other, particularly during the Shadowland conflict where Daredevil was possessed by a demon affiliated with The Hand. There was also a time where Danny donned the Daredevil suit while Matt was incarcerated. While we likely won’t delve into those stories in Netflix’s corner of the MCU just yet, it will be cool to see this friendship manifest on the small screen presumably sometime next year.
