When I first heard that ‘Blair Witch‘ was going to be returning, I was a little apprehensive but the first teasers, details, and this trailer have me sold. It looks like we’ll be getting a true sequel to ‘The Blair Witch Project’ which gives us that same first person perspective while upping the ante and quality level in ways you wouldn’t have expected. This trailer promises at the very least that we’ll be going underground for a bit and as one of my favorite horror films of all time is the claustrophobic ‘The Descent’, I believe this was a perfect route to go.
I wasn’t really interested in a follow up to ‘The Blair Witch Project’ but the teasers so far show us that director Adam Wingard is on his game.

Synopsis:
A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.
While no one is going to believe that this film is real as the viral marketing for the original was able to pull off, it still looks like we’ve got a real treat in store for us.
