Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them

This past weekend during NBC’s coverage of the Olympics on Saturday, viewers were treated to a brand new trailer for Warner Bros’ ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,’ thus continuing the ad campaign for the new film coming out this November. The trailer itself, while containing a lot of the same footage from earlier trailers, seems to give us more insight into the actual plot of the film, where apparently Newt Scaramander, after arriving in New York in the 1920’s, accidentally loses some of the magic creatures he has been documenting, creatures that get out and wreak havoc in both the “no-maj” (American for Muggle) and Wizard worlds. Newt is joined on his quest by a man named Jacob, who reports say is responsible for opening Newt’s briefcase in the first place, as Jacob seems like the type of n0-maj fascinated by all things Wizard.

The film is a return to the beloved world of ‘Harry Potter’ that culminated with ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,’ and though it takes place in the same world, it will not feature any of the principle cast from the original films. ‘Fantastic Beasts’ takes place over 70 years before the world that Harry Potter knew, and takes place in America as opposed to Great Britain. Of course, fans need not worry about the varying changes to the franchise, as JK Rowling herself penned the script for ‘Fantastic Beasts,’ and the director of the new film is long-time ‘Potter’ director David Yates, so the tone and feel of the film should still be familiar.

What are your thoughts on the new trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?’ Do you think it will be able to live up to the bar set by the original ‘Harry Potter’ films? Share your opinions in the comments below!
