After the dissatisfying look of the first ‘Star Trek Beyond’ trailer (and you figure it had to be pretty bad if even George Takei who played Sulu in the original series and Simon Pegg who co-wrote and starred in this current film were disappointed about it), Paramount seems to have made a major course correction and has released this second trailer which seems to truly cater to fans.

And while we’re speaking of catering to fans, the trailer was actually released at a fan event held at the Paramount Studios Friday night which seems to indicate that the studio is hoping to quell any stirrings of reluctance fans may have after the first trailer fiasco.

Surprisingly, despite the fact that this is the 50 anniversary of ‘Star Trek,’ we’ve really not heard too much about ‘Star Trek Beyond.’ What we know about the film is that the crew of the Enterprise has now been through 2 of their 5-year mission and in their latest adventure, the Enterprise comes under attack. The severity is enough to destroy the ship leaving the crew scattered to fend for survival on a nearby planet. The attack was led by the Federation hating Krall (played by Idris Elba). We also get to see Sofia Boutella as Jaylah, another alien who has decided to help the crew in their time of need.

Check it out below:

The second trailer really is a step up from the last one which is a relief and with the premiere of the film in just a few short weeks, expect to see more news coming fast and furious (see what I did there?)

Now that you’ve seen the new trailer, has it restored your faith in the film? Beam down to the comments and let us know!
