Though it may be plummeting at the box office in its second week, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is still remaining a hot topic among fans, critics, and moviegoers. However, the studio is looking ahead to the future of the DC Cinematic Universe as moves are being made with characters such as Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Cyborg. Even Zack Snyder is busy preparing to assemble one of the biggest teams in all of comics in the two-part epic blockbuster ‘Justice League’. But now, a new rumor has surfaced saying that one of these super friends won’t start out being so friendly.
Previously, there were many rumors and reports about the Justice League coming together to face off against Darkseid in parts one and two of ‘Justice League’. However, there might be a little more trouble than that in store for the Caped Crusader and his allies. According to Umberto Gonzalez aka “El Mayimbe” of Heroic Insider, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman will initially be resistant to joining up. In fact, the ruler of the seven seas will be so against it that we may even see his kingdom attack the surface world. And it certainly doesn’t work in their favor that Gal Gadot’s Amazing Amazon is on their side since the occupants of Atlantis and Amazons are at war as well:
“Supposedly in ‘Justice League’, it’s a conflict, or war, with Atlantis early on in the movie… Supposedly [Batman and Wonder Woman] go down to Atlantis. But Aquaman is not having any of it. And on top of that, the Amazonians and Atlanteans don’t like each other. They have a thousand year old conflict.”
In addition to seeing more superheroes fight each other, it’s said that we should be seeing more of Batfleck’s arsenal of tactical vehicles. We already saw the Batmobile and the Batwing in ‘Dawn of Justice’, but this time around, the Dark Knight will be busting out a submarine. Knowing Snyder’s strengths as a filmmaker, this could definitely end up looking really cool. Although before we get too ahead of ourselves, it’s important to remember that this should all be considered a rumor for now. And even if it does end up being true, this likely wouldn’t last for the entire duration of the movie and just act as an inciting incident or a major Act II plot point. Let’s just hope that no matter what happens or who is fighting each other in ‘Justice League’ that the story is way less disjointed than ‘Batman V Superman’ was.
What do you think about the latest rumor regarding ‘Justice League’? Do you want to see Batman and Wonder Woman fight Aquaman and the kingdom of Atlantis? And how do you think that battle will lead to the heroes teaming up to face Darkseid? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section.
