We all know that just like the clash of our heroes in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ that there has been an apparent battle between critics and audiences and Warner Brothers has chimed in with their two cents. While the film was clearly a financial success having estimated $160 million in the US and doing well over that, the fight is still on as to if the movie was actually good or not. With one of the biggest opening weekends of all time we know that DC and Warner Brothers has every reason to celebrate and if they can get the critics on board for the next film in their cinematic universe while keeping the audiences happy the numbers can only go up!

Hopefully Zack Snyder is listening to some of the complaints from both sides of the aisle this time.

So while there is plenty of celebration to go around, Domestic distribution chief for Warner Brothers Jeff Goldstein weighed in on the different views and expectations from both critics and audiences and the mixed reviews which have been popping up:

“There is no question this is an extraordinary achievement. Clearly, audiences have embraced it, and we are already seeing repeat business. It’s just fun. Often, there’s a disconnect between critics and audiences. It doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s just an enjoyable afternoon at the movies.”

Interestingly enough it seems that Goldstein is saying that critics are taking the film too seriously while critics are complaining that the movie took itself too seriously. We’ve had both a bad and good review of the film. Our own staff is just as divided as fans and critics the world over!

What are your thoughts on the situation here? Is there a divide between critics and audiences about ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ or is there really just a huge divide on fan reactions across the spectrum? Share your thoughts below!

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Ultimate Cut’ will be released on July 16th, 2016.
