Kraang1

Fans have found the live action ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movies lacking in a lot of ways, but it looks like the newest film ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows’ may be just the ticket to satisfy their cartoon craving.  We already know that the new flick will introduce fan favorite Casey Jones (played by Stephen Amell) as well as Baxter Stockman and Bebop and Rocksteady.  But now comes word that the sequel will include yet another major villain… Krang!

Usually depicted as a brain in the stomach of a robotic body, Krang (or Kraang in the newer cartoons) served as the boss of Shredder and the other bad guys on the show.  As off-the-wall as the idea of a belly crain might seems, he was an integral part of the show and fans have hoped to see some version of the purple belly beast.  And now it may be happening.

Producer Michael Bay was apparently introduced to the villain via CGI:

“They start with Ninja Turtles animation. Pablo Helman, a visual-effects supervisor who worked on the Star Wars prequels, appears onscreen and shows Bay the latest version of Krang, a new-to-the-movies villain who is, essentially, a disembodied brain inside a giant robot. ‘So we’ve eliminated the tentacles,’ Helman explains. ‘Is it too monster-ish?’

‘He could have some tentacles,’ says Bay. ‘I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.’”

So no “stupid octopus.”  Just what will Krang look like on the big screen?  Like a real brain in a belly?  There’s no real way to make that normal.

Guess we’ll all have to wait and see!’

Are you excited to see Krang on the big screen in SOME capacity?

‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows’ also stars Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, Tyler Perry, Brian Tee, Stephen Farrelly, Gary Anthony Williams and Laura Linney with the voices of Johnny Knoxville (Leonardo) and Tony Shalhoub (Splinter).  It strikes theaters on June 3rd, 2016.
