There’s nothing like cozying up to a roaring fire, decorated with treat-stuffed stockings to celebrate Christmas.  But for those not fortunate enough to have a fireplace, the video version of a Yule Log has become a holiday staple. However if you’re tired of watching a clip of someone else’s fireplace crackle, ‘Deadpool’ has a new alternative– the ‘Pool Log.

Based on the classic kids prank, the Merc with a Mouth has placed a burning brown paper bag– emblazoned with his signature child-like marker scrawlings– on a neighbor’s porch and set it aflame.  What’s inside?  Well, SPOILER ALERT, we don’t really find out.

But at the very least, you have something to watch burn other than the traditional Yule Log.

The following video supplies an hour’s worth of holiday cheer, so link it to your TV and enjoy unwrapping that new pair of socks and that new scarf that goes with nothing you already own:

While it may have been a bummer to watch a video version of a crackling fire because it doesn’t actually generate heat or the cozy smell of… er, fire, in this case, it’s probably best that the ‘Pool Log is just a video, because there’s no aroma of flaming poo.  Or… you know, what happens after you answer the door and find such a mini-inferno and attempt to snuff it with your foot, which is the whole basis for the gag.

This particular video doesn’t offer that payoff as no one answers the door to find the ‘Pool Log, but hey!  Fire!  And if you are so inclined, poo!

As part of the promotion for ‘Deadpool’ which opens in February, the movie and its star Ryan Reynolds have been gifting fans with a gift a day for the past week or so.  What on Earth could they be saving for tomorrow, the big enchilada?

Will the ‘Pool Log be part of your celebration this year?

‘Deadpool’ directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Gina Carano, and Ed Skrein hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
