Fans of ‘Sleepy Hollow‘ who are longing for the good old days of the first season might be a little annoyed that the Headless Horsemen won’t be reappearing in the third. While not too surprising with how they left the villain, it seems that the show wants to make some creative changes and start things fresh to help attract both new and casual viewers. That is pretty understandable as with the huge ratings slump that the network was hit by in the second season this next one may have even been questionable to even see happen.

Clifton Campbell, who is the new showruner for the series, wants to shake things up by giving Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane someone, or something new to match wits against. I should warn you right here that there are a few spoilers coming up for those who aren’t up to date on the series. The Horsemen is added to a long list of characters who won’t be making an appearance as we know that Orlando Jones, Katia Winters, John Noble, and Matt Barr won’t be returning either. Personally I wish that they could find a way to bring Noble back as he’s been one of my favorite ongoing series actors ever since ‘Fringe.’

With only Crane, Abbie, and Jenny remaining from previous seasons we’ll be seeing Zach Appelman’s Corbin returning to partner up with Jenny for any ongoing apocalyptic happenings that the team needs to prevent. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll see him turning back into a Wendigo this time around. I wonder if this means we’ll have 3 sets of partners during the eventual ‘Bones‘ crossover.

What are your thoughts on the Horseman not making a comeback for at least the third season? Do you think they’ll have a new main enemy that they’ll be going up against or will we be getting a pile of week to week episodes before they introduce us to a new enemy worth ending the world?
