After much waiting and Chimichanga chomping, the first official trailer for ‘Deadpool’ has finally dropped! While a very blurry version of the trailer shown at Comic-Con was leaked, seeing Ryan Reynolds work his magic as this anti-superhero in full HD was worth the 3 week wait!

There’s actually 2 versions of the film’s trailer. A Green Band one which will be attached to screenings of ‘Fantastic Four’ (apparently the film may need all the help it can get – even with the promise of an appearance by Deadpool via a trailer before the movie) and a Red Band one which is 17 seconds of glorious violence and f-bombs longer.

As with most first films about a superhero, ‘Deadpool’ will be an origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary, Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment leaves him disfigured with accelerated healing powers. He adopts the alter ego Deadpool and armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

There will be some crossover with the ‘X-Men’ cinematic universe as the mutant Colossus will appear (although he won’t be played by Daniel Cudmore who had the role in past ‘X-Men’ films and instead will be played by Andre Tricoteux). Other mutants in the film include Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Copycat (Morena Baccarin) and Ajax (Ed Skrein). No word if Wolverine will make a cameo (and maybe address the fact that Deadpool’s mouth is no longer sewn shut as it was in his origin film ‘Wolverine: Origins’) but fans are hoping. And what’s a superhero with his sidekick…er best bud… T.J. Miller will be playing Weasel which just ups the hilarity of the film even more!

With 6 months to go before the release of the film, we have still lots to look forward to! But for now, enjoy the Red Band trailer for ‘Deadpool’ below!

And if you really want, here is the Green Band version that will be playing in front of ‘Fantastic Four’ in theaters:

‘Deadpool’ will break the fourth wall on February 12, 2016.
