Luke Skywalker last jedi mark hamill

Netflix‘s series ‘The Witcher’ based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels, which inspired the popular video game, is moving forward quickly.  With Sapkowski serving as creative consultant, show creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has reported that the script for the pilot is complete.  Tomasz Bagiński is attached to direct.  Now comes the process of pre-production and casting.  While nothing has been announced, Hissrich took to Twitter to detail the various characters including this one for Vesemir.

Vesemir of Kaer Morhen is the oldest of the Witchers and serves as a father figure to the main character Geralt of Rivia.  He appeared in the games ‘The Witcher’ and ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ and several of Sapkowski’s books.

Well, one fairly legendary actor seems to have enjoyed Hissrich’s description of Vesemir and feels he is qualified to play the role… and you might agree!

Yep, Mark Hamill “could/should” play Vesemir, the mentor of the game.  After all, it’s not that far off from his current status as Luke Skywalker in the ‘Star Wars’ movies.  And fans are rallying behind this potential casting.  The Witcher game Twitter even posted a photoshopped image of Hamill in Vesemir’s armor.

Others have shown their support as well:

What do you think?  Would you like to see Mark Hamill in the role of Vesemir on Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’?  Are you excited by the prospect of seeing these books/video games adapted to a series?
