20th Century Fox had a quite a good day at Hall H this year at San Diego Comic Con, and though fans enjoyed the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ panel, it feels like everyone was far more excited by the footage released for ‘Deadpool.’ The panel itself showed off the comedic chemistry of the cast and the director, and really hammered home how making the movie was a dream come true not only for fans of the Merc with a Mouth, but also for the director Tim Miller and of course, Ryan Reynolds. They also spoke on how surprised and pleased they were that 20th Century Fox allowed them to make the film R-Rated, and really believed in making a different kind of super-hero movie. As Reynolds points out, Deadpool will be breaking the fourth wall, saying whatever the hell he feels like saying, and spending most of the movie trying to annoy everyone around him, and that is definitely not a character that fits into any of the super-hero molds we have seen so far up on the big screen. Check out the full panel video below.

Also released during the panel was a brief trailer, with lots of new footage from the film. We see our first glimpse of the relationship between Reynolds’ and Morena Baccarin’s characters, learn that Ajax and Angel Dust are the ones who give Wade Wilson the powers that turn him into Deadpool, and get out first look at Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, the latter of which has a name that Deadpool LOVES. The trailer is also packed full of humor, cursing, and violence, capitalizing on the R-Rating and honestly making the movie seem very real and fresh, without all of the “end of the world” vibes that so many other franchises are going for these days. And the scene shown between TJ Miller’s Weasel and Deadpool looks hilarious, and makes it clear that Reynolds and Miller got really good at improvising together.

Reynolds himself has stated that the studio will be releasing an official version of the trailer in 3 weeks:

So until then make sure you check out the video of the panel below, and let us know your thoughts on ‘Deadpool’ so far!
