While we’re sure to learn more about the next season of ‘Agent Carter’ at San Diego Comic-Con during the Marvel Television panel later this week, a few details have already emerged about Peggy’s trip to the west coast for a new mission. For instance, news got out last week that James D’Arcy and Enver Gjokaj would reprise their roles as Edwin Jarvis and Agent Daniel Sousa. The fates of other characters such as Agent Jack Thompson, Dottie Underwood, and Angie Martinelli are currently still up in the air (though they’re all expected to return as well), but now we’re hearing that another familiar face will definitely be making a comeback.
While speaking to Den of Geek about what we can expect in the next chapter of the upcoming midseason ABC series, star Hayley Atwell revealed that Howard Stark would be making an appearance in ‘Agent Carter’ season two. Chances are that Dominic Cooper won’t be popping up in every episode due to his commitments to AMC’s ‘Preacher,’ but he’ll certainly factor in somehow based on Atwell’s comments:
“I’ve not started work on it yet, but it’s been written. I do know that, one thing they have decided, is that it’s going to be set a year later. So it’s 1947, it’s going to be set in L.A., and I keep on thinking about ‘L.A. Confidential’, that kind of film noir, which would be great.
And I think there will be a new romantic interest, um, and then I think there might also be… Well, there will be, repetition of characters. So Jarvis and Howard will be there with us again. Yeah, we can’t have a show without those guys.”
Despite Howard playing a major role in the plot of the first season, he still didn’t appear in every episode, so not much is changing in that respect. If anything, he may be in fewer episodes depending on Cooper’s ‘Preacher’ schedule, but like Atwell says, it wouldn’t be the same without the suave Stark senior stopping by. After all, he could certainly get into a good bit of trouble in Hollywood in more ways than one.
