Will Smith (‘I Am Legend,’ ‘I, Robot’) tends to stay in shape so it isn’t weight training that he is doing to prepare for his role as Deadshot in ‘Suicide Squad.’ No need for running lines in this preview either. In fact, what you’ll be seeing is Smith learning a little bit about what Deadshot does best – shooting. Yes there is some serious weapon training going on here so you won’t be seeing him in uniform, but that should be okay as we’ve already seen him on set out of uniform and an early shot of what his uniform looks like.
Honestly, with so much of the early talk being about The Joker (who is just a secondary character) and Harley Quinn, it is almost easy to forget that Smith was even a lead on the film.

Smith had his training with both Navy SEALS and Army Rangers as he spent an entire day with them practicing with a Glock 9mm handgun and an AR-15 assault rifle. Apparently the actor was a quick learner with the AR-15 and was making most of his long distance shots. Of course, this isn’t his first rodeo on practicing with weapons for a film. From ‘Bad Boys’ to ‘Men in Black’ he has been handling firearms for quite some time and is an actor who is known for heavily practicing for his roles so he has had plenty of training over the years.
