We know that David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad‘ is going to somehow include Ben Affleck’s Batman and a new rumor is saying how that may be. The first report of how Batman would appear in the movie had him just showing up on grainy video footage. Now this referenced footage still seems to be in play and there still is no mention if he would be included in an after credit scene, but this new rumor may or may not conflict with a recent Joker rumor as well.

This new rumor has Batman known as “some sort of big boogeyman” that the government and not just a corrupt police force both fear and hate. This is why Amanda Waller is actually keeping The Joker so close. Apparently he is the only person who is known to have directly interacted with the Caped Crusader. Agent Waller wants to know every detail about The Dark Knight so is keeping The Joker close. This may or may not be related to the rumor that places the Crown Prince of Crime having previously killed off one of Batman’s sidekicks. It seems for an agency that knows so little about Batman that they have quite a bit of information at their fingertips.

Apparently having footage of Batman in action is referenced here but it seems a little more interesting than just him taking down villains. Something about what happens in that grainy video makes the government believe that Batman is “the key to tracking down all ‘the supers'”.

This isn’t exactly the first time that we’ve heard that part of the rumor. What is interesting is that they are making him much more of an unknown player than the established hero that we’ve all come to place Bruce Wayne as over the years. For all of these rumors to prove true, I feel that we’re missing a key piece of information still. Of course, as they all are just rumors there is no guarantee that any of these pieces will end up in production when the film is released.

What are your thoughts on this take for Batman in ‘Suicide Squad’? Do you feel it is more fitting than just a mini-video cameo and an end credit lead in to his stand alone film? Share your thoughts below!

‘Suicide Squad’ hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
