With the Marvel Universe coming to a close we’ve just learned eight new locations for the ‘Battleworld‘ that will replace it. The interactive map that they have been developing to show off the new Marvel Universe has expanded with eight new areas. Some of them will be quite familiar to long time Marvel readers while a couple are also pretty surprising.
Lets take a look at the new areas where we will see the ‘Secret Wars’ play out in the upcoming rearranged Marvel Universe:
Weirdworld
Barbarians, dark sorcerers, dragons, might and magic! Once a great king and conqueror, the former barbarian warlord, Arkon, was trained to kill since birth with sword or axe or hardened bolts of lightning that he keeps in a quiver on his back. But in this new dominion of Battleworld, he’s lost and alone in a land he can’t explain or understand. A world where he has to fight every day just to survive, as each bend in the road brings new horrors, new monsters, new awful ways to die or go mad.
Utopolis

Attilan

As I’m not still fully sold on this event in the first place, I’m clearly most interested in what parts of the 616 (the current Marvel Universe) and 1610 (the Ultimate Marvel comics) universes that they keep intact. I’m a little worried on exactly how many of our current fan favorite characters are going to be getting some massive overhauls when this event plays out.
