With ‘Sharknado 3’ returning in the most ridiculous monster mash up that Syfy and The Asylum have done to date, we also now know that both Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will be returning to reprise their roles. That’s right, Ziering is back as Fin with Reid will be back as April in the thrill ride trilogy of the century! It still amazes me the madness that ‘Sharknado‘ has been able to spawn.
Also returning is director Anthony C. Ferrante (‘Boo,’ ’Headless Horseman’) who will be working off of another script by screen writer Thunder Levin (‘Mutant Vampire Zombies from the ‘Hood!,’ ‘AE: Apocalypse Earth’) while The Asylum will again be producing the film. No other word at this time as to who else we’ll see end up starring or having a cameo in the film.
The third installment will premiere in July and that the Sharknado “will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., than roar down the Eastern Seaboard.” So it sounds as if we’ll be getting a much wider range of locations than either of the first two installments in the series.
When ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One‘ was released last July, it actually took the crown of being Syfy’s most watched original movie of all time with over 3.9 million total viewers. Not bad for how absurd the entire concept of this series has been so far! I won’t lie, I’ll probably be tuning in on the premier date too just to give a few groans and face palms at the movie.
