‘Bloodborne’ producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has announced that the upcoming action-RPG has been delayed until March 2015.

Originally planned for release on February 6, the newest successor in the cult-classic series of ‘Souls’ games will be launching on March 24 as an exclusive title for the PS4.

“While development continues unabated, we would like our team to deliver the best possible final experience,” said Yamagiwa in a PlayStation Blog post. “We were gratified by the feedback and data we received from those who participated in our limited Alpha test. The extra production time will also allow us to better integrate these learnings.”

From the comment section on the blog post, fan feedback of the news seems to be generally favorable with users welcoming the delay, saying things along the lines that the developers should take their time to deliver a quality product.

As stated, ‘Bloodborne’ is the newest title in the line of ‘Souls’ games, a series known primarily for its brutally difficult action RPG dungeon crawler gameplay. Being developed by series veteran developer Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game will actually differ from his previous games  ‘Demon’s Souls’ and ‘Dark Souls.’ In terms of its combat, the game will feature a much faster pace that is more reliant on agile offensive tactics rather than slower paced defensive ones. Weapons arsenal has been expanded to feature firearms and weapons themselves will feature two different modes of attack. For example, the game’s cleaver weapon has an initial state where it can be best used to damage enemies in small spaces. However, when in its other state, it is extended to better fight off crowds.

‘Bloodborne’ takes place in the ruined gothic city of Yharnam, a place that is famously rumored to have a powerful medical remedy capable of curing any affliction. Due to this reputation, travelers will go on pilgrimages to Yharnam. The game puts the player in the shoes of one of these travelers. However, upon arrival, it soon becomes clear that the city is plagued by an endemic illness that has turned its citizens into grotesque bestial creatures. In order to survive, the player must navigate the streets of Yharnam and survive its horrifying threats.

‘Bloodborne’ will release exclusively for the PS4 on March 24, 2015.
