Recently, a ton of news and rumors have been pouring out about ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’, which has just resumed filming in the UK after a short hiatus. Besides the talk of the new Stormtroopers and potential villains, one of the more interesting reports involves a WWE Superstar and one of the most iconic villains in all of cinema.

Many pro-wrestlers have found success on the silver screen including Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The latest former WWE Champion to make it big is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Dave Bautista, but the Independent seems to think that the current reigning and defending United States Champion Sheamus is the next one to make the jump to movies. In late July, the Irish-born brawler posted on Twitter that he was on Skellig Michael Island, which is where J.J. Abrams and company were reported to be shooting the next adventure in a galaxy far, far away recently. Then, the Irish Mirror indicated that the Celtic Warrior’s visit was ‘Star Wars’ related since prior to his sports entertainment days, he played the feared Sith Lord on promotional tours. The wrestler responded with a tweet that remained vague, yet alluded to his past experience with the Dark Side:

While I wouldn’t go getting my hopes up just yet to see the Great White appear in a big time Hollywood feature, Sheamus actually does have some acting experience. Besides having small roles in ‘The Escapist’, ‘3 Crosses’, and ‘Assault of Darkness,’ he has also made an appearance on ‘Royal Pains’, which airs on the same network as Monday Night Raw.

Do you think that Sheamus is in line for a role in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’? Would you like to see the US Champ Brogue Kick a few Stormtroopers or see him reprise his part as Darth Vader or some other Jedi adversary to lead a battalion of his own? Share your thoughts in the comments below, fella!

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ blasts off into theaters on December 18, 2015.
