Coming out on September 5th, Sony Pictures and Affirm Films are giving us a new end of the world horror film that will show us ‘The Remaining.’ Well, those who are remaining after what seems to be the equivalent of the Rapture hits the Earth and we’re suddenly thrown into one cataclysmic event after another. At this point, the soul purpose of nature seems to be the extinction of what is left of the human race. The film is being brought to us by writer and director Casey La Scala who primarily is best known for his work as an executive producer on ‘Donnie Darko.’

The film stars Johnny Pacar (‘Purgatory House,’ ‘Playback’), John Pyper-Ferguson (‘Alphas,’ ‘The Lost Ship’), Shaun Sipos (‘Final Destination 2,”Texas Chainsaw 3D’), Bryan Dechart (‘Awakened,’ ‘Dakota’s Summer’), Alexa Vega (‘Repo! The Genetic Opera,’ ‘Machete Kills’), Italia Ricci (‘Don Jon,’ ‘Chasing Life’), and newcomer Liz E. Morgan. This group have come together for a friend’s wedding where things go bad rather quickly as you can see below!

THE REMAINING is an action-packed supernatural thriller that addresses questions of life, love and belief against an apocalyptic backdrop. A group of close friends gather for a wedding, but the celebration is shattered by a series of cataclysmic events and enemies foretold by biblical end-times prophecies. The survivors face a horrifying, uncertain future as they scramble for safety, but as their world collapses around them in chaos and terror will they choose real life through faith, or just try to survive?

It has been awhile since we’ve seen a good old fashioned end of the world movie that looked like it could be good. I’m a little curious as to how this will actually end up playing out on screen, though.

After you’ve watched the trailer are you curious to join ‘The Remaining’ in finding out how to survive in this horrifying new world? Share your thoughts below!
