Over the weekend news sites were taken in by a fake teaser for ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show‘ by one of the best fan made teasers that I have ever seen! Done in the style of previous ‘American Horror Story’ trailers this one is amazing to behold! Watching it you could easily see why anyone would believe that FX put it out as it is exactly in the style that they would usually use.
FX has confirmed the teaser to be fan made and has stated that no teasers have been released for the series as of yet. While it is always possible they are trying to cover damage of an early leak (after all, there is a clown in here), we have to assume it isn’t the scary clown that the show has been promising or else they would have embraced the teaser and not lie about it.
Still, it is a great setup and is awesome that it teases a fake fallen angel. Knowing the series, if this were to be a real piece from the series a fake fallen angel would probably be shown to be a real one by show’s end.
I’m actually kind of sad that this isn’t a preview for the show. Part of that is due to how little we’ve seen from the set so far and part of it is from this just being so well done! Who knows? Maybe FX should look into hiring the director of this teaser to work on some of the actual ones.
