While we’ve known that ‘Preacher‘ would have some deviations from the comic, a recent update shows that the inclusion of Genesis won’t be one of them. It’s good to know that they plan on including him, and rather quickly as well due to him being the true cause of setting the entire events of the comic in motion in the first place.

As Seth previously stated “we love most of the main cornerstones of the comic but we’re trying to make it that even if you’ve read the comic you should not know exactly what to expect from the TV show.” Thankfully they aren’t changing one of the major premises right off the bat.

So where are they now on it? Well apparently they just had a writing night…

With their writing day in full effect it would appear that there has been a tease for the character Genesis to be included rather soon.

So it looks like we’ll be seeing Genesis right after the teaser for the show! Now if only we could zoom out a little on that board and see what else they have up their sleeves!

For those unfamiliar with the character, Genesis is the offspring of both an angel and a demon. He is the deity who possesses Jesse Custer, the main character, and sets him on a course to find out why God has abandoned his duties in Heaven and get him back up there. Joining Jesse will be his ex-girlfriend and a vampire and the trio will be set upon at every turn by the Saint of Killers, among others.
