Way back in 2011, we first heard of a major motion picture adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ independent spy-thriller comic series ‘The Secret Service’ under the direction of ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘X-Men: First Class’ helmer Matthew Vaughn, who co-created the characters. The following year, it was assumed that the filmmaker would start work on it after he had completed ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. However, by the end of the year, he decided to vacate the director’s chair of Fox’s Marvel mutant movie in favor of tackling the lesser known James Bond meets ‘My Fair Lady’ tale. By the dawn of 2013, a cast had been assembled and they were off to the races. Now, fans can finally lay eyes on some footage from the film in its very first trailer.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the latest Millar comic book adaptation had undergone a name change. After announcing that the film would now be going by ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, 20th Century Fox later released the first look at the film starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, and relative newcomer Taron Egerton. You can check out the trailer for the film featuring a veteran secret agent training a new young protégé below:

In addition to the trailer, we have our first poster for the film as well. You may recognize it from Firth’s armory from the trailer, but it’s cool to see all the gadgets up close and personal:
