Once again a science fiction show has come to Fox and once again it has been cancelled. J.J. Abrams may have had an ongoing hit but it is now official that ‘Almost Human‘ has come to a close. Aside from ‘Fringe’ and ‘The X-Files‘, there have been a long run of genre cancelled shows such as ‘Firefly’, ‘Terra Nova‘, ‘Alcatraz‘, and ‘Touch‘ that have come and gone far too soon on the Fox network.

This is news that wasn’t too surprising as the network had already released early renewal notices for many shows such as ‘Sleepy Hollow‘, ‘Bones’, ‘The Following’, ‘New Girl’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, and ‘The Mindy Project’, just to name a few. ‘Almost Human’ has been absent from every announcement to date. With Fox already having commited to a few new series and pilots (such as ‘Gotham‘), they obviously needed a few time slots to open up an d’Almost Human’ was cut. It also didn’t help that the network aired the first season’s episode out of order, too.

While J.J. Abrams is busy these days with that whole directing of a little project called ‘Star Wars: Episode VII‘ that is going on, it is still a shame that this show has been cancelled just as it felt that it had caught its stride. The series had ratings similar to that of ‘The Following’ though the DVR usage kicked those numbers up quite a bit. How the love of Detective John Kennex’s life factor in with the bad guys and what mysteries lay beyond the wall was finally coming to the forefront and the next season of ‘Almost Human’ would have been something worth diving into. Fans of the series can only hope that the story continues in another format as some genre shows have in the form of novels or comic books.

With the story finally appearing to come together, was this series cancelled too soon or was their slow to warm up to the meat of the plot too much and this cancellation was deserved? Shared your thoughts below!
