I just can’t help but love how ‘Godzilla‘ is looking with each new trailer and the current TV spot helps ramp up the destruction once again. According to this latest TV spot “It Can’t Be Stopped”, when you look at the destruction that everyone’s favorite giant lizard causes, it certainly looks to be the case! That is one ruined downtown area and knowing that we are finally going to see the level of devastation that the King of the Kaiju should always have been capable of is getting me excited to see the film! I can’t wait!
Speaking of the first official TV spot lets take a quick look at it!
Oh yeah! I’m really curious as to what possible roles the military or scientists are going to have when going up against an impossible force of nature. I know the story has to be humanized, but I really have no idea what they’ll even really be doing here as the previews haven’t given us enough of an idea of the characters quite yet.
Honestly, I love giant monster films but so few have really done justice to the kind of destruction that would occur from giant rampaging creatures in a major city. ‘Cloverfield’ was able to pull it off – if you could get over the shaky cam feel. The new ‘Godzilla’ looks to have the type of destruction level seen in the old natural disaster films so popular in the early 2000s, which is exactly the kind of damage that should be occurring.
