I know this is going to be a huge surprise to anyone that has been following the previews and characters already included in ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ but it has been confirmed that the film will setup the characters for ‘The Sinister Six’. It isn’t as if Jamie Foxx, who will be portraying Electro, hasn’t already brought up The Sinister Sex last year or that Sony announced last year that Drew Goddard would be directing a ‘Sinister Six’ movie that Mark Webb (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, ‘The Office’) recently talked about. Rumors and confirmation aside there hasn’t been a direct announcement that this film would introduce us to the concept.

Until now.

In a recent article we just found out that ““At the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in the Sinister Six,” says Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal. “We’re going forward on all fronts.” (The studio hasn’t yet announced the exact makeup of its big-screen Sinister Six, but comic book fan Garfield says he personally digs Venom, Doc Ock, Vulture, and Kraven.)

While Normon wouldn’t usually be associated with the Sinister Six that doesn’t mean the film wouldn’t make changes. Also Mysterio feels like he might be a stretch for this batch of films but you never know what they might end up going with. So why a film about villains you might ask? Well “Villains can be very entertaining. It’s not like somebody’s born and they’re a villain. Something happens and it changes their lives. Some people can deal with it — they become the heroes. Some people can’t and hate the world because of what they felt was done to them — they become the villains.” Which is a good point.

Personally while the infighting could be fun here I honestly think I would prefer a film or even series based off of the current comic “The Superior Foes Of Spider-Man” which, while it has its flaws, gives a great reason on why it could be fun to watch villains on screen and keep it lighthearted at the same time.

What do you think of the ‘Sinister Six’ movie. There are strong hints that we’ll see Vulture and Doc Ock as members of the Six with possibly a Goblin and/or Venom involved as well. Who would would you like to see on the roster? Would you get a kick out of a pure in-suit Spider-Man saving the day at the end or would you want him to not even make an appearance?
