Even though Marvel Studios has no plans at the moment to create a live action adaptation of ‘Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow’, one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is expecting a little bundle of joy. According to E! News, Scarlett Johansson is currently about four months pregnant with her first child with fiancé Romain Dauriac. While we wish the actress behind Black Widow and her family all the best, we do wonder about the status of ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’, which has already started filming.

As of now, the actress’ baby bump hasn’t been too obvious, but with the baby due in August, it’s only a matter of time before we start to notice the bun in the oven. So what’s the plan for Joss Whedon’s sequel to ‘The Avengers’ when it comes to ScarJo since it has previously been said that the character will have an expanded role when the team assembles once again next year? The report says that the plan is “to fast track her scenes” for now. Despite Marvel not issuing an official statement on the matter, this does seem to make sense. Plus, with the wonders of CGI and body doubles, it’s very possible that we won’t even notice Johansson was pregnant while shooting the film. Hopefully Johansson won’t have the same problems that Halle Berry did when her pregnancy prompted a re-write and cut in scenes for her character Storm in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.

The promotional tour for ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is set to begin soon, so we may find out more while the actress is out with the rest of the cast doing the rounds with the media. She’ll probably be asked about the solo Black Widow film as well, but I don’t see this baby affecting that project anyway since it’s still in the developmental phases right now and probably not happening until late Phase Three or Phase Four.

Do you think that Joss Whedon and company will have to move mountains to make this Scarlett Johansson baby situation work for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’? What if they wrote it in that Black Widow and Hawkeye had a baby since the Battle of New York? I’m just kidding about that obviously, but if you have any fun ways that Marvel could cover up the bump during filming, share them in the comments below.

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ assembles in theaters on May 1, 2015.
