Hot off the heels of the release of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trailer, Marvel has released these short vignettes of cast members introducing the characters they play. So get ready to learn more about the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team with these character profiles!

One of the biggest complaints about the trailer was that fans of the superhero team didn’t get to hear Rocket Racoon speak. Besides the CGI appearance of this team member, fans have been wondering what Bradley Cooper’s take on who director James Gunn describes as the “heart of the team”.  Not only will we get a closer look at Rocket, we get to hear him speak too! Check it out below:

Another missing voice from the trailer was Groot and his infamous (and only) line“I am Groot”. While we still don’t get that in the video below, we do get to see Vin Diesel talk a little bit about the alien who has been travelling as Rocket Racoon’s “personal houseplant/muscle” as well as see some new footage of the alien:

Dave Bautista plays Drax, an alien who solely lives for revenge. It’s quite a fitting character for this WWE/World Heavyweight Champion to play. Get a look at some of his antics below:

Not a stranger to being transformed into an alien with the use of full body make up (after all, she did play Neytiri in ‘Avatar’) Zoe Saldana plays Gamora, one of Thanos’ adopted daughters. What makes Gamora’s profile exciting to watch is that the footage includes snippets of a fight scene with her sister Nebula (played by Karen Gillan). Yes, these are two ladies no man would want to get between:

Last but not least is Chris Pratt’s Star Lord/Peter Quill. While neither an alien (at least to us mere Earthlings) nor a super powered hero, Quill relies on his brains and charisma to get out of trouble. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ marks the first feature film for Pratt to play the leading man, and from the what we’ve seen so far, he is more than up to the task:

So what do you think of the Guardians so far? Marvel is making it no secret that this film is a departure from the other comic book films it has made in the past and in this sense, it is a risk for them. But from the looks of the trailer and these profile videos, the risk was worth taking!
