‘Chronicle’ director and outspoken comic fan Max Landis plans to pitch two super hero movies to Warner Brothers.  During a Reddit Q&A session, Landis attempted to dodge the subject, but finally confessed that he intended to propose a new take on Green Lantern and… wait for it… Wonder Woman!

He briefly commented on his vision:

“Either a version of Green Lantern that played like ET meets Stand By Me using the goth/punk [scene] and Kyle Rayner, or Wonder Woman, using a pitch that I intend to make to Warner Bros.”  (Some sites are spelling it “Raynor” but… that’s wrong.)

Of course no other information was revealed.  And also, these are just ideas the writer/director has.  Nothing may ever come of them.  I especially doubt a goth Kyle Rayner movie will ever happen.  Since Hal Jordan is once again the main Green Lantern, and the one appearing in the current ‘Justice League’ comic book, I doubt Warner Brothers will bank on the “90s” Green Lantern.

As for Wonder Woman, could this be a step closer to the biggest female name in comics finally taking flight on the big screen?  Talk has circulated for years of a Wonder Woman movie, including a script from Joss Whedon, but Warner Brothers has continually shied away from a film starring the Amazing Amazon.

David E. Kelly’s poorly executed television pilot starring the character was not picked up by ABC and the CW’s ‘Amazon’ pilot (inspired by the success of ‘Arrow’) has stalled at the network.

Having already conquered a deconstructed super hero movie with ‘Chronicle’, is Landis the right person to bring a fresh approach to the DC cinematic universe?  He certainly has insight and opinions when it comes to DC Comics!  If you haven’t seen his tirade about “The Death of Superman” check it out below!
