Although Warner Bros released the final trailer for their Superman reboot, ‘Man of Steel’, last week, that didn’t mean that was the end of new footage that the studio would share with movie audiences. During this Memorial weekend holiday, the WB has been releasing new TV spots (one per day) each giving a different look and tone from the movie.

All three TV spots carry new snippets from the film and it hasn’t gone unnoticed that during a holiday where Americans remember those heroes who fought for our freedom, another hero is being touted fighting for Earth’s freedom from the evil General Zod. Pretty good subliminal marketing ploy Warner Bros.!

The commercials are riddled with spoilers but what is most interesting is that they are quite opposite from the first trailers and spots that were released for the film almost a year ago. These spots below are full of action and CG effects and, quite frankly, have really impressed this Superman fangirl!

The first commercial spot highlights a nice Kryptonian father and son chat between Jor-El and Kal-El about what it means to wear the almighty symbol associated with the superhero:

The second spot, released yesterday, conveys what most fans of Henry Cavill think. To quote the female Captain, “I just think he’s kinda hot.”

The last spot released today centers on Zod and more of the action packed footage from the film. “You’re a monster, Zod,” says Superman. “And I’m here to stop you!”

No doubt there will be more spots and clips released in the coming days so keep coming back to ScienceFiction.com to see all the new footage!

‘Man of Steel’ stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fisburne, Antje Traue and Russell Crowe and opens in 3D on June 14th.
