It was a sad day for Marvel Animation fans last year when ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ was cancelled after two seasons. Widely regarded as one of the best cartoons from the House of Ideas in years, the show silently fizzled out without as much as an official announcement of cancellation. However, considering that the feature film version of the team has made such a splash with audiences everywhere, it was only natural that the Avengers animated franchise would live on featuring the team from Joss Whedon’s record-breaking movie. And thus ‘Avengers Assemble’ was born.

But since Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb made the announcement of the new show, we’ve seen and heard very little about it. Recently, the first promo for the show was released along with some information about a special preview airing later this month. Check out the promo below courtesy of Daily Marvelite:

Unfortunately, as you can see, there’s no footage from the show at all in the incredibly short promo, but it did come with this blurb highlighting the team and some potential threats they’ll be facing throughout the series:

“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” reunites the most popular super hero team — Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow, along with newcomer Falcon, marking the first time in animation history this distinct team of heroes will join forces. Led by Iron Man, the heroes train and live together in their new headquarters in Avengers Tower. The planet’s most dangerous villains don’t stand a chance when the Avengers assemble – whether they are stopping Dr. Doom from conquering Asgard, Attuma driving the Atlantean Army into New York City or Dracula unleashing vampire hordes, the Avengers must work together to succeed.

I don’t know about you, but I never really pictured the Avengers having to deal with Dracula, but hey, why not? Regardless of the unexpected villain, there’s really not much to go on when judging this show right now. Besides this video, we’ve only seen a handful of promotional artwork, but all that is about to change on May 26th as Disney XD will debut a special hour-long preview of ‘Avengers Assemble’.

Based on the limited information you’ve been given about the show, are you open to tuning into this supposed sequel of sorts to ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’? Let us know what you think about the upcoming animated series in the comments.

‘Avengers Assemble’ officially premieres on Disney XD on July 7, 2013.
