With the release of ‘Oblivion’ only a month and a half away, it’s surprising that there isn’t more of a promotion going on with this Tom Cruise film. Luckily, though, Universal has released this trailer that brings in more action and more footage of what looks like a really good sci-fi film.

The trailer is much of the same as the lsat one that was released and goes more into the plot of the film with more new footage. It soon becomes clear in this video who really is the enemy but still keeps the mystery of who Olga Kurylenko is playing and why are the people in the sky after Cruise. After all, what could be their end game?

The script for ‘Oblivion’ was written by Michael Arndt (‘Star Wars: Episode VII’) and  is the follow up film for ‘Tron’ director Joseph Kosinski. Hopefully this film of interplanetary sci-fi intrigue holds up because the trailers alone really do well in selling the film.

Take a look and see if you agree!

‘Oblivion’ is slated to hit IMAX screens April 12 and traditional theaters April 19.

Synopsis:

Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
