Lionsgate has unveiled the first official movie poster for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and like the unveiling of this year’s blockbuster film, ‘The Hunger Game,’ this poster is on fire!
Those who are familiar with the book trilogy already know that the image is a modified version of the ‘Catching Fire’ book cover featuring Katniss’ Mockingjay pin, which becomes a symbol for the revolution in Panem. The tagline “Every Revolution Begins With A Spark” is a nice way to tie everything in.
The poster doesn’t reveal much about the movie but with the first film being so close to the book version, fans of the series already know what will be coming. Here’s the official synopsis just in case you haven’t read the book:
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
Fans of the movie version may be disappointed in the poster as it is strikingly very similar to the one that Lionsgate rolled out last year with only a few modifications with the Mockingjay in the middle which can be compared below:
Regardless, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is one of the most anticipated films to be coming out next year and with filming to conclude next month, expect more teasers to come soon!
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
