With Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ being released on home video recently and pre-production on it’s sequel well under way with the casting of Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson and (potentially) Jamie Foxx as Electro, Peter Parker’s arachnid alter ego has been making the news a bit lately.

First, it appears that Spidey will be getting some threads for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. But if you’re immediately jumping to the black symbiote suit, don’t get your hopes up just yet. In a recent Twitter Q&A highlighted by Geek Tyrant, the director talked about some small changes that’ll be made to the suit for the sequel:

Spider-Man himself, Andrew Garfield, recently appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and confirmed (jokingly) that there will be tweaks to the outfit. He said:

“The suit is undergoing a redesign because I couldn’t urinate in it last time. So I’m less nervous ’cause that’s gonna be nice.”

That’s not all he said about the upcoming film though. If you didn’t catch that interview on daytime talk show, IGN recaps that the actor noted that production on the second film in the rebooted franchise would begin in February. With that production date just around the corner, I expect some big news to come our way very soon.

Finally, a big part about this rebooted Spidey tale is the fate of Peter Parker’s parents. As part of a promo for the Facebook page for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, a fan asked Marc Webb and ‘Spider-Man’ creator Stan Lee what we can expect from the sequel, and the two elaborated on exploring what happened to Peter’s parents in the future. And by “elaborated”, I mean that they only brought up more questions that fans are dying to know the answers to. Check out the video below:

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Shailene Woodley opens in theaters on May 2, 2014.
