Superhero team movie castings seem to be the hot topic of today. Earlier today, rumors dropped about Ms. Marvel making an appearance in ‘Avengers 2’. Now, on the DC side of things, it appears that the ‘Justice League’ movie may have found it’s Batman.

According to Moviehole (via Blastr), Armie Hammer of ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Mirror, Mirror’ is rumored to be attached to WB’s assembly of DC heroes. The funny part is that the actor was attached to the role before. Back when a ‘Justice League’ project was in the works before the writer’s strike under George Miller, the then-unknown Hammer was lined up to play the Caped Crusader alongside Adam Brody as the Flash, and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman. But then that whole project fell apart and a new ‘Justice League’ movie didn’t come together until DC kicked things into high gear after ‘The Avengers’ was a massive hit.

The report also notes that the studio doesn’t want Hammer for a solo Bat franchise. If he were to sign on to the film, the actor would only be Batman in the Justice League films. So much for continuity and a shared movie universe, right?

I’m not sure how I feel about Armie Hammer being cast as Batman. He’ll definitely be a different Bruce Wayne than what we’ve seen thus far onscreen, but maybe that’s a good thing. Just because he’s the Dark Knight doesn’t mean he has to be super dark all the time. Though I’m not exactly looking for another Adam West here either. What do you think about this rumored casting?
