A few months ago, it was revealed that NetherRealm, the company behind the highly successful and well-loved fighting franchise ‘Mortal Kombat’ would be teaming with DC Comics again to create a fighting game featuring the comic book company’s heroes and villains called ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’. This time around there’ll be no ‘Mortal Kombat’ characters or watered down fighting styles to plague the heroes of the DC Universe. Based on what’s been released so far, this game will be an all-out, no holds barred battle royale between some of the most loved and hated beings to step out of a DC comic.

Thanks to Comic Book Movie, we can take a look at a new featurette featuring NetherRealm’s Ed Boon talking about the game and what sets it apart from the other fighting games out there. Also, we get a look at some actual gameplay featuring Wonder Woman run the gauntlet in a few separate matches against the likes of Cyborg, Nightwing, The Flash, and Harley Quinn. Both videos can be seen below:

Gametrailers also points out the game’s attention to detail. For example, in the featurette, Solomon Grundy’s attack shows him using a tombstone from his chest. That tombstone belongs to Cyrus Gold and the “born” date is 1944, when Grundy was introduced, and the “died” date is 1896, when Gold was dumped in Slaughter Swamp. Little things like this matter!

More importantly for me, Nightwing is in this game! I had no idea that the former Boy Wonder would be a playable character, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was watching these videos.

While I may not play games like I used to, this is making me contemplate finally picking up a next gen system. What do you DC and video game fans think of ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’? Are you excited to pick it up? Let us know in the comments.
