The Avengers’ is still raking in cash at the box office and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is still a good two months off so what are superhero fans looking forward to next?. Okay, so ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ is also nearly two months away, but… it’s Spider-Man and my spider-excitement is already tingling!

Today Sony Pictures released both a new TV spot for the film as well as some promo images featuring the Lizard.

The trailer clocks in at only 35 seconds and most of the footage has been seen in other trailers (most notably the theatrical trailer that hit last week). But there are a few quick clips of new action and, better still, the announcement that there will be a four minute sneak preview of ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ during the premiere of ‘America’s Got Talent’ next Monday night!

Check out the trailer…

In that trailer, you got a few glimpses of the Lizard (played by Rhys Ifans). If you want a closer look at the scaly scientist, check out these promo shots…

After those horrifying images, if you’re still brave enough to help track down the Lizard (and possibly snag some more Amazing Spider-Man swag or clues), check out the viral campaign that Sony Pictures is running. Then join me back here at ScienceFiction.com as I publish all of the Spider-Man news that’s worth publishing.

‘Amazing Spider-Man’ is directed by Marc Webb, stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Dennis Leary. It swings into theaters in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on July 3, 2012.
