Prometheus David 8 Michael Fassbender

One of the best marketing ploys for a movie has to go to the people at Fox with their viral campaign for the movie ‘Prometheus.’

Following the viral footsteps of Peter Weyland’s (Guy Pearce) TED 2023 clip and the brief intro clip announcing the coming of  their new  android David, Weyland Industries has once again has released another video this time it’s an unnerving in-depth look at the 8th generation of the David android.

The video looks like a sales pitch for the AI robot and is very cool and detached. Michael Fassbender portrays David 8 very convincingly… eerily so. Since ‘Prometheus’ is supposed to take place before ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens,’ David is the precursor of the androids Ash (Ian Holm) and Bishop (Lance Henriksen). It also gives a bit of insight on the motivations of their makers. After all, as David says, “I can carry out directives that my human counterparts might find distressing or unethical.”  (I’ve included a transcript of the video thanks to Prometheus.net)

Watch the clip below and tell me if you got chills watching it just as I did. More so because this movie is the movie we’ve all been waiting for Ridley Scott to make!
