There’s a new neighbor in ‘Hemlock Grove’ and it’s in the form of the beautiful Australian actress Freya Tingley.

Tingley is not so much a familiar face to U.S. audience, but that may change once Netflix’s ‘Hemlock Grove’ begins next year. She was most recently seen last year in the movie ‘X: Night of Vengence’ and in the short film ‘Beneath the Waves.’ She will be joining Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgard, Landon Liboiron and Penelope Mitchell who were cast earlier.

Wanting to be competitive in the world dominated by the networks and cable, ‘Hemlock Grove’ is the first of many original programs Netflix hopes to offer its subscribers in the near future. The show is based on the Brian McGreevey book of the same name that was just recently published 2 weeks ago. The one hour 13 episode series produced and directed by Eli Roth (‘The Last Exorcism’, ‘Hostel’) revolves around the murder of a young girl. Two teens who are suspects of the crime decide on their own to find the real killer. Peter (Liboiron) is the Gypsy kid from the wrong side of the tracks who likes to tell people he’s a werewolf and is in love with Letha Godfrey (Mitchell). Roman (Skarsgard) is the heir of the Godfrey fortune whose family owns the steel mill where the murdered girl was found. Olivia (Janssen), the beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove, is the mother of Roman and his deformed sister Shelly. Tingley will be playing Christina Wendall, the precocious self-dubbed novelist who interviews Peter after catching him swimming in her grandfather’s pond.

While the book has only been on the shelves for 2 weeks, it will be awhile before the series will be accessible for download. ‘Hemlock Grove’ is expected to be available sometime early in 2013.
